The Florida Poison Information Center-Jacksonville, the Department of Emergency Medicine-University of Florida Health Science Center, and Shands Jacksonville Medical Center have implemented and scheduled recently developed Advanced HAZMAT Life Support (AHLS) courses. The Advanced HAZMAT Life Support Provider and Instructor Courses were developed by the Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center and The American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and are now offered in Jacksonville, Florida at the Shands Jacksonville/University of Florida Health Science Center-Jacksonville campus.
Two- day provider level and three-day instructor level courses are available for physicians, paramedics, EMT's, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals to convey training in hazardous materials exposure management and chemical/bio hazard readiness and response.
